Studies have shown that work led stress has escalated progressively over the past few decades. This is alarming, and definitely a cause of concern. Understanding and accepting this fact, organisations are coming up with creative strategies for their employee’s well being at work.
Global IT services company, Cisco rolled out a virtual reality AKA VR pods to promote employee stress reduction program called Mind Set aimed to lower their employees’ stress factor at work.
Role of VR in Cisco’s “Mind Set”
The initiative is considered as a new experiment with the potential to improve team collaboration. The goal is to help employees “relax, re-energise and reduce stress” through tranquil, exotic settings delivered via immersive VR headsets.
The course is divided into five-parts and is available to all U.S. employees that teach mindfulness principles and practices.
Feedbacks from program are taken at the end by the participants with pre- and post-course surveys. Attention is given on “long-term stickiness” for the maximum benefits of employees.
