Winter has set in. A frigid weather, lack of sunshine and feeling of being cooped up inside can take a toll among your employees.


This seasonal depression marks attitude related changes. Researchers have confirmed that winter leads to the brain making less serotonin, a chemical linked to brain pathways that regulate mood and sleep.


Here are the 5 ways to combat the dip in energy levels at your workplace and sustain the productive momentum.

Winter can reduce your energy levels. Writing a mail or simply circulate a message among all staffs to take special care to avoid winter blues disorder. Good skin care, upping hydration and nutrition, involvement in any activity level altogether brings a spark in energy levels. Even if you wake up early, the wrong selection of food in your routine diet will not help you feel active. Include foods which raise the serotonin levels – a brain chemical stabilizer.

Food sources to step up serotonin levels are Eggs, Pineapple, Tofu, Nuts and diet rich in fibres. So, include seasonal vegetables and fruits in your routine diet.
